NACL SET TO DEFEND INTER-COMPANY RELAY TITLE
National Airports Corporation Limited (NACL) will participate in this year’s Inter-company Relay Race slated for this June in Lusaka. 

A winning team has since been assembled and has already started training in readiness for the yearly event.

The Corporation won the competition last year and is set to defend the title at all costs.

The theme for this year’s competition to be hosted at Lusaka’s show grounds on 5th June is ‘Acting Together We Can Win.’The Relay Race was initiated in 1999 by the Zambia Amateur Athletic Association (ZAAA) to raise funds for developing and promoting athletics in the country through talent identification programme (TIP).The TIP is designed to identify athletes with potential, especially from rural Zambia, nurture them through various local competitions and expose them to international competitions.

The highlights of the event are:

.        11.5Km Relay Race at K2,500,000 per team of eight participants

.       200 meters chief executive race at K1,000,000 per executive

.       5Km health walk at K200,000 per walker

.       Children races at K50,000 per child (organizational sponsorship per team of eight children K350,000).

.       Paralympics Race (Athletes with disabilities) Relay teams executives and walkers

.      11Km individual race at K150,000 per person.

.      Product display K5,000,000 – K10,000,000

.      Dinner on the night of the event at K150,000 per person.
