AIS is responsible for the management of flight planning within the Zambian Airspace. AIS aerodrome unit for Lusaka is co-located with the International NOTAM office (NOF) with others at Ndola, Livingstone and Mfuwe International Airports where all pilots can file their flight plans. 

The units provide other services such as:-

• Pre-flight Information Bulletins
• Pre and Post flight briefing
• Collections of Temporary Air Service Permit (TASP) fees.
