National Airports Corporation Limited (NACL) employees donated foodstuffs worth K1.5 million to Kabwata Orphanage. This Gesture was a brainchild of workers in the telecommunications section of air navigation department who have been fundraising since September last year. Among the foodstuffs donated included bags of mealie meal, dressed chickens, eggs, cabbages and beans. Presenting the donation to the director of the orphanage Mrs. Angela Miyanda, NACL chief telecommunications technician MR. Phiddy Phiri observed that the workers felt duty bound to contribute to the orphanage as corporate social responsibility was not a preserve of the corporate world. Mr. Phiri said NACL employees were grateful to the orphanage for looking after the underprivileged children. Mrs. Miyanda thanked NACL employees for the donation in light of the many challenges facing her institution and called upon other organizations to emulate the example set by NACL employees.
